Vickrey & Associates, Inc. was founded in 1971, by Wm. Kennon Vickrey & Norma Vickrey with the vision to develop a family-oriented consulting firm dedicated to enhancing the community through reliable and reputable civil design, surveying, and consulting services. The family built the company upon a foundation based upon high character and high ethics. The company's focus is on providing innovative solutions that meet their client’s needs and make their projects a success.
The firm has a long history of providing high quality services to its clients and has developed an impressive portfolio of high profile projects over decades of development in South Texas. Some of those projects include: Hemisfair Tower, Encino Park, Westlakes, Citicorp, Datapoint Headquarters, Cornerstone, and Rittiman East & West Industrial Parks, Umbell Oaks, Cornerstone, Brookhollow Office Buidling, Fountainhead, Sundance, Univision Headquarters, The Oaks at University Business Park, University Heights Tech Center, Port San Antonio Flex Office Center, Stone Oak Methodist Hospital, Brookhollow Office Bldg, Plaza Lecea, Remington Medical Resort, Green Mountain Industrial park, FBI Headquarters, Stone Oak Temple and numerous retail centers including Rolling Oaks Mall, Fiesta Trails, Targets, Home Depots, CVS, Walgreens, and numerous retail and restaurant developments. Other notable projects include the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center Expansion and the historic Plaza de Armas, Circa 1749 restoration.
During the late 90’s, Vickrey expanded its services to include transportation and transit. Significant transportation projects which Vickrey worked on included the IH-10/410 Interchange, US281 and San Pedro Interchange, Wurzbach Parkway from Jones Maltsberger to Starcrest, 410/US 281 access road, IH-35 Waco from approximately 0.82 miles north of South Loop 340 to approximately 0.07 miles north of North Loop 340, and other streets and highways such as the expansion of UTSA Blvd. from Edward Ximenes to Babcock, the expansion of Hardy Oak from Stone Oak to Knights Cross, the extension of Dusty Canyon, and many other City of San Antonio and TxDOT street, drainage, and highway projects. Vickrey also provides transit engineering, surveying, and GEC services on projects such as the VIA Bus Rapid Transit Project and the Westside Multi-Modal and US281 Stone Oak Transit Centers.
In 2004, Vickrey expanded its geographic service area and opened a full service branch office in Austin, Texas. Notable Austin Projects include: Hilltop at the 'Y" in Oak Hill, Gibson Residences & Retail, South Lamar Blvd., Harris Ranch Plaza on Brodie Lane, AMLI 5350, Burnet Park on Burnet Rd., Independent Bank on W. 40rth St., CVS on south Lamar, Upland Village in Bee Cave, and Brodie Park Retail Center on Brodie Lane. Vickrey also works with the City of Austin, Austin Energy, Austin ISD, and the State of Texas. Vickrey also has experience working in Williamson County, Hays County, San Marcos, New Braunfels, and throughout the IH-35 corridor.
Throughout its history, the firm has provided conventional land surveying services to enhance the quality of design. Vickrey has embraced technology over the years by adding total stations, automatic levels, GPS, robotics, and the latest in software and technology. In 2013, Vickrey expanded by adding Geospatial Services to include terrestrial, mobile, and aerial LiDAR services. These services bridge the gap between surveying, engineering, all design disciplines, as well as construction. Our clients are experiencing significant savings on their projects with the use of our Geospatial Services.
From a staff of two more than 45 years ago, Vickrey has expanded to over 90 professionals and is one of the most respected firms in Texas.
